Dog of the Week
This darling four month old boy was given up owners who were moving into a small apartment and were sadly unable to take him along. Handsome Zimba is now patiently awaiting his forever home. This sturdy boy is quite active and will do well in a home that has the time to provide him with plenty of love and exercise. Zimba would enjoy long walks with plenty of time to enjoy taking in new scents. Beagle experience is a plus or someone who is willing to research the breed to be sure that the breed is a good fit for their life style, as Beagles are not the breed for everyone. (visit: http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/beagles.html for more information on the breed). We are asking for a home with children over the age of eight as in typical Beagle style, he does enjoy his food immensely. Training will be a must to ensure that he grows up to be a wonderful and well behaved adult dog. If you think Zimba is the one for you, stop by the shelter and meet our sweet Beagle boy!

Cat of the Week
Please meet Doris, who came to Anderson Animal Shelter as a tiny kitten in June 2010 (a year and a half ago!). Doris likes other cats and will eat treats from your hand. She was found living outside as a hungry, scared stray with her brother, Ralph, although she and her brother don't necessarily have to be adopted together. Doris can be shy, but once she gets to know you, she is such a snuggler! Please come in soon to meet this pretty girl! For more information Doris or our other adoptable cats and dogs please visit Anderson Animal Shelter's website at www.andersonanimalshelter.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 28.
