Anderson Animal Shelter promotes dog
adoptions
Are you a runner or active walker
and looking for a dog to work out
with? If so, stop by Anderson Animal
Shelter and consider adopting an
exercise pal! The shelter has a
number of dogs who love to run and
play and would really excel as a
running or distance walking
partner.
Michelle Groeper, Director of
Operations, suggests Beau as an
example. “He is an Akita mix who is
not only smart enough to be at the
top of his obedience class, but he
has a high activity level and would
be a wonderful running partner. His
adopter might also be interested in
enrolling him in agility training as
he has aced the agility training
offered at the shelter.” Quincy, a
Spaniel mix, is another dog at the
shelter who really would thrive in
an active household and especially
with someone who enjoys running each
day. Groeper says that
“additionally, at the shelter,
Qunicy goes ‘bowling’ with a bowling
ball and pins in his kennel to keep
him stimulated – are any bowlers out
there looking for an addition to
their league?”
Anderson
has many other dogs available for
adoption and who would be great
additions to homes where the family
likes to be active and exercise.
All available dogs (and cats) can be
viewed at
www.andersonanimalshelter.org.
The shelter is promoting the
adoptions of dogs over a year old
and larger than 40lbs by reducing
their adoption fee to $100 for the
month of April. The adoption fee
includes their spay or neuter,
heartworm test, vaccinations,
microchip and registration, a free
vet exam and leash and collar.
Anderson has adoption hours every
day except for Wednesday’s.
The shelter is located at
1000 South Lafox Road (Route 31) in
South Elgin. For more information
